The core of the system captures and simplifies all the sensor data and displays it in a user-friendly view. Devices are mapped virtually to one another; creating the ability to automatically trigger backend processes. The health and status of these devices trigger alarms when events occur and are reported back to the control room via a graphical user interface.

Convergence of IT and OT

For many people, information technology (IT) is basically synonymous with the team you call when you need help with a computer issue. One could classify IT as Computer Technology, Databases, Software Applications, Network Systems, to name a few. While that view of information technology isn’t totally wrong, it drastically understates the scope of critical functions within an organization.

Even though an organization’s IT department handles many different functions and plays a critical role in keeping things running.
